Hong Kong!

So, I got to Hong Kong fine and was rather pleased with myself when i managed to find my way using only busses (which cost roughly 3 quid rather than 40 for a taxi) to the hostel (which is on a different island than the airport). That pleasure was short-lived when my hostel actually wasnt where it should have been!
Luckily, there was a janitor at the place who told me where it now was and after expressing my displeasure, they gave me a double room for the trouble :)

That night i went out to walk around. I am in a fairly main part on Hong Kong island called causeway bay but when you get outside in the street it is like central London on a friday evening....all the time. All shops stay open til 11pm, most much later, and there are loads of random stalls on the street so theres lots to see/do all night long.

Today (friday) I went to "the peak" which is the biggest mountain in Hong Kong. To get up there you take a tram which is old and wobbly yet gets almost vertical at some points! There is a big building on top and you can go up on the roof for a 360 degree view of all the islands of Hong Kong which is amazing! I also did the "HK walk" around the mountain and the wildlife is amazing. There are millions of butterflies everywhere and they are as big as small birds!

I'm trying to upload pics but the hostel's idea of "high speed internet" and mine differ greatly.....ill try and add some more later!

Peace

Me!

Fish in Hong Kong park, with a turtle trying to climb out!

This is the sort of thing they put on the wedding cars over here!

My best attempt at taking a picture of a butterfly, it was as big as my hand!

A rubber tree!

Would the fact that you've left the country have anything to do with Tottenham's comically inept start to the season? Or the impending Big Match on the 28th?

Running scared, my son, running scared...

It really isn't fair that you left your mother behind. I'm soooo jealous. Trust you to get a room upgrade! The pics aren't bad. Are they from your phone, or did you get a camera?

Sounds like you're having a great time so far :)

Don't worry about Matt - he still needs a win in the Big Boys' League...

But then, you may need a win in the REAL League, the one that matters, where the Arthitic Leopards aren't doing too well either...

The Arthritic Leopards are just lulling you all into a false sense of security......they will strike soon......
